Brewing Instructions for All Our Teas

LOOSE LEAF HOT TEA

Early/Mid/Late Spring Green Tea, Oolong, Black Tea, Morning Citrus, Berry Brûlée, English Cottage, Sunday Brunch, Sweet Sorbet, Rose Green, Lavender Green, Peppermint Green, Spearmint Green

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Boil water + let cool to the correct temperature (see chart at the bottom).
  2. Place 1 heaping Tablespoon (4g) tea leaves into a small teapot.
  3. Pour 1 cup (240mL) water over the tea leaves.
  4. Let steep for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Pour the tea over a strainer into a cup.

Leaves can be brewed 3+ times.

If you don't have a food thermometer:
Bring 2-3 cups water to a full boil, then immediately cool with the lid off for a few minutes.
*Never pour boiling hot water over green tea leaves. It will bring out too much bitterness, plus this "cooks" the tea leaves rather than drawing out the beautiful flavors and benefits.


LOOSE LEAF COLD BREW - BOTANICAL BLENDS

Morning Citrus, Berry Brûlée, English Cottage, Sunday Brunch, Sweet Sorbet, Rose Green, Lavender Green, Peppermint Green, Spearmint Green

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Add 3 Tablespoons (10g) tea leaves to 1 Liter of water in a bottle like this one.
  2. Close the lid and let sit in the refrigerator overnight.
  3. Strain, sweeten if desired, and pour over ice.
*We will have some great self-straining cold-brew bottles for you very soon!

LOOSE LEAF COLD BREW - SINGLE INGREDIENT TEA

Early/Mid/Late Spring Green Tea, Oolong, Black Tea

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Add 2 Tablespoons (7-8g) tea leaves to 16oz. room temperature or cold water and seal well. 
  2. Let steep in the refrigerator for 1 hour. Give it a taste and if you'd like it stronger, check after another 30 minutes. 
  3. Remember to strain the whole 16oz. at once. Otherwise the water remaining with the leaves will continue to brew, and will eventually become bitter.


POWDER TEA BREWS & LATTES

Green Tea Powder, AYR Red Powder

GREEN TEA POWDER

To Brew as a Latte:

  1. Whisk 1 teaspoon powder in 1 Tbsp water until smooth.
  2. Add 1 cup milk of choice (hot or cold).
  3. Stir in 1-2 teaspoon agave or maple syrup, if using.

To Brew as a Tea:

  1. Pour 1 cup water (hot or cold) over 1 teaspoon tea powder.
  2. Whisk vigorously until frothy. For best results, use a matcha whisk (coming soon).
  3. Sweeten or add milk if desired.

AYR RED POWDER

To Brew as a Latte:

  1. Whisk 2 teaspoons powder in 1 Tbsp water until smooth. 
  2. Add 1 cup milk of choice (hot or cold).

  1. Pour 3/4 cup water (hot or cold) over 1 teaspoon tea powder.
