Iced Black Tea 4 Ways

Fresh Orange · Cardamom ·
Vanilla Bean · Rose Water

Try mixing them up, too. Cardamom and rose water are a classic Middle-eastern match. Orange plus vanilla bean make an orange creamsicle. Any combination works beautifully.

And remember: when you're done making your iced tea, don't throw out the used leaves. There is still a lot of flavor in them! Store them in the fridge in an airtight container until you're ready to brew them as a hot tea.

*Check out the bonus tip at the very bottom!

Black Tea with Fresh Orange

Forego the tired iced tea with lemon wedge combo and try a ripe, juicy slice of orange. You'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner.
For the brightest flavor, don't cut the orange into slices until you're ready to serve the iced tea, so that the juices and essential oils are nice and fresh.

You will need:

1.5 L of drinking water

2 containers that can each hold 1.5 L of water, like 64oz. mason jars
*If you don't have these, you can simply buy two 1.5 L bottles of water and empty one out.

Strainer

Half pouch or 17 grams Wild Orchard Black Tea

About half an orange, cut into 1/4 inch thick slices

Light agave syrup, to taste
*We like to use 2 Tablespoons for a medium-light sweetness.

Ice

Directions:

  • Put the tea leaves into one of the containers and fill with 1.5 L of drinking water.
  • Close the lid tightly and refrigerate overnight, or for 10-12 hours.
  • Strain into the container.
  • Sweeten as desired. Start with 1 Tablespoon, then add more as needed.
  • Cut the orange into slices.
